Stay indoors on dry and windy days
On days when the smog levels and pollen in the air is high, stay home! It is better to be safe than sorry. Study and follow up with the counts reported by weather forecasters to know the best time to go out.
Wear face masks outside:
Face masks will help to prevent you from breathing in congested air which is likely to contain allergens and particles that can trigger an allergy.
Avoid dusty chores
Chores like lawn mowing, sweeping, dusting, weed pulling and other gardening work can trigger allergies and should be avoided during this period. These chores can be done by other people who do not have any allergy.
Keep your doors and windows closed always
Summer allergies are mostly caused by pollen from grass which goes from moderate to high levels for the duration of the months in summer. Insects are also very active this season and you can get an allergic reaction from their bites or stings. An open door or window is an invitation for these pollens, insects, and other allergens to enter into your home.
Take a bathe once you come from outside
Allergens might settle on your hair and clothes when you’re out. Make sure to change your clothes, shower and wash your hair once you come from outside. Also wash your beddings and rug preferably with hot water to get rid of allergens like dust mites.

An air conditioner will be ideal to chase allergens from your home. Also make sure that your air vents are always clean. Also clean the bookshelves, air filters and every surface that pollens may accumulate.
Wash your beddings and vacuum your carpets and rugs thoroughly
Pollens and other allergens tend to settle on rugs and carpets. You need to ensure your home is clean from any allergens by vacuuming properly and regularly. Also, wash and change your beddings often to eliminate any allergen that you may have brought home after a day out.
Symptoms Of Summer Allergies
The symptoms of allergy that are commonly experienced include: sneezing, coughing, nasal congestion, runny nose, itchy nose/eyes and watery eyes.
Post-nasal drip is a typical symptom of pollen allergens( which is common in summer). It can result in a scratchy and sore throat especially when mucus build up or run down your throat.
The symptoms of an allergy are quite similar to the covid-19 symptoms. However, allergies will not cause you to have a fever unlike covid. This is the major difference between both ailments.
